With the summer behind us, the Hive team are settling back into our normal routine and also busy organising our autumn activities. I have had a very extended break and so have a lot of work to catch up on, including arranging work experience placements for school pupils, and my own NVQ. Education and personal growth is important for all of us here, and hopefully we can make it fun for you too. Our regular weekday activities, such as Moviedrome and Hyperlink (check out the what's on page for more information), are once again up and running after the summer break and proving popular. It is lovely to see some of our young people from last term return, but also great to see some new faces, and to know that more and more of you are becoming aware of us and are enjoying the things we do here.
For the half term we have some fabulous workshops to keep you busy, from monster egg heads for the very young (ages 5-7 years), to comic book workshops, mask making and Halloween themed fashion accessories for those aged 8-13yrs.In addition to our own programme of activities, there are also weekly workshops with West Mercia Dance and Shropshire Youth Theatre, who can both be contacted directly for any information you may need. On Saturday 17th October The Missing Inc. will be running a comedy workshop followed by a performance of The Beagle Has Landed. Tickets for these events can be bought from The Hive during normal office hours. We also have some photo's up from the workshops that took place earlier in the year, so please take a look and see if you are in any of them, or if you recognise any of your friends.Don't forget we also have live music nights, usually on the last Wednesday of every month, with some cracking bands set to play here over the coming months. Having the opportunity to hear so many talented young musicians and singers without having to go as far as Wolverhampton or Birmingham is just amazing, so pop along one night and soak up the atmosphere for yourselves.
