Scars of the Un-fought Battle

The Hive is currently running a project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund exploring forgotten aeroplane crash sites across Shropshire and making video documentaries about them.

This project is open to anyone aged between 11-25 and gives the opportunity to explore local history and learn new media skills through film making, script writing and interviewing alongside professional filmmakers who help the young people build media skills.

Below are two examples of documentaries that have been created on this project so far.

How do I get involved?

This is a fantastic FREE project for young people aged 11-25 exploring various aeroplane crash sites around Shropshire!

Create a film about a crash site in Shropshire, conduct interviews with local people and explore the crash sites to discover more about how, why and when the crash happened. You will may have the opportunity to use a drone to film aerial shots of the crash site.

Working in small groups of 10 you will learn film making and editing techniques whilst exploring the rich aviation history of Shropshire.
